Meet the Team
Kendra Achonwa is an adult educator who also works in international and online language education as an ESL/EFL instructor. She has lived and taught adult learners in foreign countries such as South Korea and Japan, as well as young learners in local school boards in Ontario, Canada. She has also worked as an online coach providing language learning solutions to business professionals around the world. Kendra currently lives in the United States and works as an adult education teacher at a community college, where she provides and coordinates services and instruction to special populations. She is passionate about cross-cultural education, technology-based education, sustainable development and lifelong learning.
During her studies to obtain her Master's of Education in Adult Learning and Global Change from the University of British Columbia, Kendra Achonwa, Co-Founder and CEO of GradHat, completed a course that explored Ventures in Learning Technology. After creating a venture pitch for her ed-tech startup, Kendra reached out to the co-founders of WhiteHat, a successful U.K. tech company bridging skills gap by connecting apprentices with career-focused apprenticeships and hiring employees.
